In latest news from Uttarakhand, a 22- inch-tall cow-bull pair, brought from a well-known cowshed in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh by a family to its home in Adarsh Nagar in Haldwani, has become a cynosure for all eyes in the neighbourhood.
Ghanshyam Rastogi, the president of the local jewellers’ association, said that they had come to learn about the micro miniature bovines while they were visiting Tirupati temple on pilgrimage. His son Vedanta-known for his special fondness for cows- went to the cowshed in Kakinada where the punganur cows are being bred and brought with him the pair against some donation. Given the current humid-hot climate of Haldwani, the adorable pair-named Laxmi and Vishnu- is being taken special care of with air coolers fitted to cool them.
The spiritually inclined members of the family look elated on having such cute pair in their house. They say that with their arrival, positive energies have started playing in the household. Not just the Rastogis, but the neighbourhood families appear charged with a new energy emanating from the pair. They keep gathering in the room where the pair is kept to feast their eyes on the sight of the pair. “Their look and even their mooing seems and sounds like they are the mythical divine entities which are believed to fulfill our righteous wish and desire,” said a neighbour beamingly.
“We are now visiting 12 Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva and so we believe that these two little bovines have come to us as if Divine gifts. They are as though charging not just our home but the whole locality with spiritual energy,” said Ghanshyam’s wife Divya with joyous adoration sparkling in her eyes.
