Garhwali film Dholi wins Rajat Kamal at 72nd National Film Awards

Garhwali film Dholi has been honoured with the Rajat Kamal Award for Best Garhwali Film in the feature film category at the 72nd National Film Awards. In addition, Rs two lakh cash prize was also presented.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the entire team of Dholi on this achievement. He said that this national recognition for the film is a tribute to Uttarakhand’s rich folk language, folk culture and cultural heritage. This accomplishment is inspiring for the State’s film industry, artists and creators and will provide a new identity for Garhwali cinema, he said.
The CM also congratulated the film’s producer, SC Pharmachem Private Limited, director Dinesh P Bhonsle and the entire team for their success. He said that regional cinema plays a vital role in promoting the folk culture and traditions of Uttarakhand to the country and the world.
The State government is consistently working to develop Uttarakhand as a film-friendly destination. The new film policy is aimed at promoting film production in the State, creating new opportunities for local artists, technicians and youth, Dhami said.
