The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has claimed that the ruling BJP has become nervous by the Kedarnath march of the Congress party. Addressing the party workers at Devprayag at the start of the fourth day of the Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra on Saturday, Mahara said that anxiety of BJP was in display when chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami landed in Kedarnath on the day Congress started its Yatra from Har Ki Paidi in Haridwar. He added that now the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), embroiled in the accusations of missing gold from Kedarnath has given its clarification on the issue which shows the power of democracy. The PCC president said that the BJP has understood the character of the BJP. He said that the BJP and the State government threw their full might in the Badrinath and Manglaur assembly by-elections but they lost both seats. He said the Yatra of Congress party from Har ki Paidi to Kedarnath is about increasing social harmony. The PCC president said that the Congress party has always encouraged harmony and development. He said that the BJP is connecting the Yatra of the Congress party with the upcoming Kedarnath bypoll because it has no faith in social harmony and development. The BJP has only tried to spread distrust in the society.
He said that the Congress is not satisfied with the reply of the BKTC on the missing gold from Kedarnath Dham. Mahara said that at that time it was said that the gold was transported on 18-19 horses and the BKTC had even demanded an increase in the number of the security personnel in Kedarnath.
Former minister Navprabhat, Survir Singh Sajwan, Congress leaders Pradip Thapliya, Mohit Uniyal, Jayendra Ramola, Om Gopal Rawat, Ranjit Rawat, Lalit Pharswan and others accompanied Mahara in the Yatra on day four.
