Jaunsari film ‘Mere Gaon Ki Bat’ to be released in Doon on Dec 5

The first Jaunsari feature film Mere Gaon Ki Baat which is based on the customs and folk cultural traditions of Jaunsar Bawar is all set to be released in the cinemas in Dehradun on December 5 and the next day in Vikasnagar cinemas. Stating this, the presenter of the film K S Chauhan said that it would be shown at the New Upasana Theatre on Cinema Road in Vikasnagar while on December 5, it would be released at Centrio Mall in Dehradun.
Chauhan further said that this film had been made for the past year. The shooting was completed in four phases in April, May, June and July at various locations in Jaunsar Bawar. Notably, all the actors in the film are from the Jaunsar Bawar region and most of them are new to acting, presenting their performances on camera for the first time.
The writer and director of the film Anuj Joshi said that the censor screening had been successfully completed in Delhi following which the censor board had issued a certificate for its screening. “The board also praised the film for its representation of folk traditions,” Joshi said, adding that the first teaser of the film has been released, generating excitement among millions of people from Jaunsar Bawar, Jaunpur, Rawain and the Himachal region.
“We strongly believe that the audience will be moved by the touching scenes that reflect the concept of joint family life in Jaunsar Bawar and the traditions of respect for women as depicted in the film,” he said.
