All-round development of youth not possible sans sports: Singh

Sports competition starts as part of Abhyuday at University of Patanjali

The youth have an important role to play in the nation and the all-round development of the youth is not possible in the absence of sports. The University of Patanjali vice chancellor Alok Kumar Singh said this at the inauguration of the sports competition as part of the university’s annual festival ‘Abhyuday’ here on Sunday. The competition will be held till February 27.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor said that sports are not merely a competitive event but also symbolise self-discipline, cooperation and sportsmanship. He requested the competitors to participate with a sense of self-discipline, dedication and positivity.
The university proctor Arshdev said that sports are not limited to participation as the intention to achieve the goal is also vital. Players in the competition participated in athletic events including races, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and badminton, among others. According to the university officials, the winners of this knockout competition will participate in the final round of Abyuday to be held from February 28 to March 2.
