In latest news from Doon, the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has hiked tariff by 5.62 per cent enforced in the State from the month of April. This will affect all categories of consumers except the BPL category people who will enjoy a partial exemption from the hike. The tariff has been increased at the rate of ten paisa per unit for 4.64 lakh BPL consumers.
