The Tehri district magistrate, Mayur Dixit directed the officials concerned to complete the road repairing work with road safety norms kept in view at the earliest with Char Dham Yatra drawing near. He gave this order while chairing a district road safety committee meeting here on Saturday. He was apprised at the meeting of the road accidents that happened in 2024-25 and their causes aside from the challahs issued by the Transport and Police departments during the same period and compliance of the instructions given in the previous road safety meeting.
The DM asked the BRO officer to remove road construction debris from Hindolakhal; the executive engineer, PWD to immediately install crash barriers in Jakh; the ARTO to issue maximum challans for over-speeding and the executive engineer, PWD, Narendranagar to install a safety wall at the accident-prone site on Gujrada road.
The officials present assured the DM that the remaining road safety works would be completed very soon.
