Focussing on strengthening emergency services: Dr Jain

The newly appointed Principal Medical Superintendent (PMS) of Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital Dr Manu Jain has emphasised the importance of improving emergency medical services and others within the hospital premises. 

In an interaction with The Pioneer, Dr Jain discussed his plans to improve and streamline the hospital’s operations to ensure optimal patient care. He said that his primary focus will be on enhancing services for patients at the hospital. 

Dr Jain has expressed his intention to enhance the emergency medical services and the gynaecology department, ensuring the number of deliveries for pregnant women at the hospital. Over time, these services will be improved significantly, he said.

 Additionally, the PMS has held meetings with the hospital’s doctors to guarantee that patients receive satisfactory care during their visits.

Regarding prescriptions that sometimes require patients to purchase medications outside the hospital, Dr Jain said that he will prioritise addressing this issue. He stated that he will direct the hospital’s doctors to refrain from prescribing medications from outside. Further, he emphasised that any instances of outside prescriptions brought to his attention will result in strict action.

In addition, the PMS averred that he will ensure that a comprehensive range of medications is available at the hospital.

 Dr Jain emphasised that in the event of any future admit cases of dengue and COVID-19 patients, they will receive appropriate services and care.
