Pithoragarh-Munsyari helicopter service to take off by Sept 30

The operation of helicopter services between Pithoragarh and Munsyari under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme is expected to begin by September 30. The Central government has selected Heritage Aviation for operating the service on this route, officials informed.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had recently communicated with Union Civil Aviation minister Rammohan Naidu and sought the Centre’s cooperation in expanding helicopter services in Uttarakhand. The Union minister has written to Dhami and informed him about the selection of a company for operating the helicopter service on the Pithoragarh-Munsyari-Pithoragarh route under the UDAN scheme, addig that it is expected to start by September 30. Preparations are also underway for helicopter service on the Pithoragarh-Dharchula-Pithoragarh route under the UDAN scheme for which land is required for building a helipad in Dharchula. Initial approval has been provided to Heritage Aviation for operation on this route too.
Feasibility study on for Achnera-Tanakpur rail service
DEHRADUN : Union Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has written to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informing him that as sought by the State government, the ministry is conducting a feasibility study for the operation of the Achnera-Tanakpur special train. Dhami has thanked the Union Civil Aviation and Railways ministers for enabling the expansion of helicopter and railway services in the State.
