Forest Martyrs’ Day: Tributes paid to 33 forest martyrs at CTR

Tributes were paid at Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) to 33 forest personnel who had been killed in the line of duty while protecting wildlife on the occasion of Forest Martyrs’ Day on Thursday. Leading the programme, the CTR director, Saket Badola said that every staff member of the Forest department should draw inspiration from these wildlife martyrs.
Another senior Forest officer, Dharampal said that 33 forest personnel had lost their lives in attacks by tigers, elephants and venomous snakes among others while performing their duty.
Among those who attended the programme were the DFO, Ramnagar forest division, Dhruv Martolia; SDO, Ramnagar forest division, Ankit Badola and Park Warden, Amit Gwasakoti. A moment of silence was observed in memory of the deceased staffers.
