3-day tiger counting workshop to be held at Rajaji Tiger Reserve

A three-day workshop for tiger population estimation, initiated by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), will be conducted at Rajaji National Park. Informing this, the director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Saket Badola said that the workshop would commence on November 18.

The Forest officials, including DFOs, SDOs, trainers, and other officers from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, will participate in the event. The training will cover various aspects of tiger counting which will be carried out in four phases. After the workshop, forest officers from these states will conduct tiger population estimation in their respective regions.

Notably, Corbett Tiger Reserve had recorded a total of 260 tigers in the previous 2022 estimation. The wild life experts anticipate that the tiger population has increased since then.
