The in- charge of Uttarakhand Congress, Kumari Selja will undertake a six-day tour of the State from May 4. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that the in-charge will visit Chamoli, Pauri, Rudraprayag and Tehri districts. He said that during her visit she will hold meetings with the party workers to boost their morale. Godiyal added that the in- charge of the party will also hold one to one interactions with the local leaders during her visit. He said that it would be the second visit of the State party in charge in recent times.
Godiyal claimed that many leaders of BJP are keen to join the Congress and soon some of them will join the party. He hinted that a second round of joining of prominent leaders will be held in New Delhi. On women reservation, the PCC president said that the State government should pass a resolution in Vidhan Sabha reserving 33 per cent of the existing 70 seats in the State assembly for women. “If my own constituency is reserved for women, I have no problem,’’ he said.
On the issue of break from the politics decision of former chief minister Harish Rawat, Godiyal said that Rawat will be in the programmes of the State in-charge of Selja early next month.
