Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed officials of the Public Works Department to complete the construction of the Shiv Mandir bridge on Mussoorie Road within the designated timeframe to ensure public convenience. He said this during a site inspection of the under-construction Shiv Mandir bridge on Tuesday. During the visit, he enquired about the progress of the bridge, which had been damaged by rain.
Dhami emphasised that this bridge is a vital link between Dehradun and Mussoorie used daily by many local citizens and tourists. He said that to maintain smooth traffic flow, the construction of the Bailey bridge is progressing rapidly and the other side of the bridge will be completed and operational soon.
“The construction of a permanent bridge at this location is also being prioritised, with a target completion date of two to three months,” Dhami said. He said that the State government is working to strengthen roads and bridges in the region, with multiple projects being implemented to improve connectivity in remote areas.
In view of the Char Dham Yatra and Adi Kailash Yatra, the CM instructed all departments concerned to finish the necessary infrastructure work on time to ensure safe and smooth travel for devotees and tourists. He also directed officials to regularly monitor the progress of these construction works.
