CM Dhami attends swearing in ceremony of BJP govt in West Bengal

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the swearing in ceremony of first BJP chief minister of West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari at historic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata on Saturday.

Governor RN Ravi administered oath of office and secrecy to Adhikari in a grand ceremony attended by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders. Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Khusudiram Tudu and Nisith Pramanik took oath as cabinet ministers in the ceremony.

Notably, Adhikari leads the first BJP government in the State and he replaces Mamta Banerjee who had ruled the State for 15 long years.  Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda and Dharmendra Pradhan and chief ministers of BJP ruled states attended the swearing in ceremony of Adhikari government.

 In a post on social media after attending the swearing in ceremony, CM Dhami congratulated Adhikari for becoming the first BJP CM of West Bengal. “I am confident that your leadership and vision will take West Bengal to new heights of progress, good governance and development. Furthermore, the benefits of the Union government’s public welfare schemes will reach every eligible citizen of the State, giving new impetus to the state’s all-round development,’’ Dhami said.
