A mazar allegedly built on government land in Ahmednagar under Jaspur Tehsil of Udham Singh Nagar district was demolished on Saturday morning. Jaspur’s sub-divisional magistrate, Rahul Shah, on the instructions of the district magistrate Nitin Bhadauria, conducted a survey of the area to identify which religious structures had been illegally constructed on government land. Subsequently, a notice was issued three weeks ago, identifying the illegal structure, and later a notice was posted on the structure, demanding that land-related and construction-related documents be submitted to the administration within two weeks.
According to the SDM, after no one produced any documents regarding the illegal structure till the expiry of the notice period, the structure had been removed from that place.
Notably, the state government has removed about 600 such illegal structures from government land in the last few months.
