A total of 87 complaints, including those related to land disputes, illegal encroachments and financial problems, were received during the Samadhan Diwas on Monday. Officials were directed to take quick action on the complaints and ensure that people get solutions on the ground.
The additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) KK Mishra chaired the Samadhan Diwas on the directions of Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Chauhan.
Several complaints were related to alleged land fraud and illegal occupation. In Maruti Vihar, Rajhanwala, a complaint was submitted about illegal occupation of government land. The SDM Sadar was directed to take immediate action and remove the encroachment.
In Ranipokhari, an Army jawan alleged that another person had constructed a house on his land despite registration and mutation of the property. He also accused a property dealer of fraud. The Tehsildar and Rishikesh police were asked to investigate the matter.
A resident of Rajpur Road complained about illegal occupation of her private land in East Hope Town. The SDM and police circle officers were directed to take joint action. Residents and farmer representatives also raised demands for land surveys, settlement work and safety walls in different areas.
Some people sought financial help for higher education and children’s education. The ADM directed officials to conduct field inspections and resolve complaints within the prescribed rules and time.
