MCD instructs Ramky to pay at least 50 percent of pending property tax dues

Against the pending property tax of ISBT and Big Bazaar of over Rs one crore, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has instructed Ramky Company to deposit at least 50 percent of the dues within 10 days or else, action will be taken against them. Informing this, the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey stated that the Ramky Company manages the operation of ISBT and Big Bazaar and their pending dues for about three years total to Rs 1.12 crores. “In a meeting on Tuesday, we have directed the company to deposit at least 50 percent of the pending property tax within 10 days otherwise, the corporation will have to seal both buildings,” stated Pandey.

Moreover, the officials informed that the corporation has sent the notice to Ramky Company last year too regarding the pending dues but they raised objection against it stating they are not liable to deposit the property tax of buildings as per their agreement with Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). However, the officials from MDDA have disagreed as per the officials due to which the corporation has instructed Ramky to deposit no less than half of the pending dues within 10 days.
