CVCs to operate four days a week for Covid vaccination

Considering the possibility of a hike in the number of beneficiaries for Covid-19 vaccination in Covid vaccination centres (CVCs), the Dehradun district administration would increase the number of centres in the next few days. Many private hospitals will also administer vaccinations to locals for a maximum fee of Rs 250. Since there are still some issues with CoWIN portal, the senior citizens and people with comorbidities aged 45 years and above can directly register at CVCs for vaccination.

The Dehradun chief medical officer (CMO), Dr Anup Kumar Dimri said this while addressing the media on Wednesday about the second stage of Covid-19 vaccination drive in Dehradun district. According to him, beneficiaries of the vaccination can register through the CoWIN portal and Arogya Setu App but only four people can be registered with the same mobile number. Further, he said that though on the spot registration has been allowed in the CVCs, it would not be done without valid identity proof like Aadhaar card, PAN card or a driving license. The administration will soon increase the number of CVCs across the district to facilitate easy vaccination for everyone. He said that many private hospitals will also start Covid vaccination for which they will have to pay Rs 150 for each dose to the administration. “The private hospitals will pay Rs 150 for each dose of vaccine to the district administration and charge maximum Rs 250 per person from beneficiaries,” said Dr Dimri. He further added that the CVCs will operate only four days per week for Covid vaccination.

The beneficiaries will be vaccinated only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the centres, he informed. The CMO said that people can also contact the administration at toll-free number 104 to get the vaccination-related details.
