Police file three cases on violation of MCC by political parties

The police have registered three cases against unknown persons for publicising political parties ahead of assembly elections next month violating the model code of conduct (MCC) in Raiwala of Rishikesh. The police informed that some unknown persons have painted two public properties at Khairi Khurd and Vaidik Nagar in Raiwala promoting the Congress party by writing slogans and symbols. Public property has also been painted at Haripur Kalan in Raiwala to promote a local political party. According to the Circle Officer (CO) of Rishikesh DC Dhoundiyal, all the political parties have been directed to adhere to the protocols under MCC or the police will take strict action under the relevant acts. He said that the police have filed three cases against these violations and will take action against the guilty parties.
