Airport official found hanging wearing bindi and lipstick

The airport air traffic control in-charge of Pantnagar airport, Ashish Chausali (35) was found hanging in the residential colony on the airport premises under suspicious circumstances on Monday. He was allegedly wearing a bindi and lipstick when other employees residing on the premises found him hanging in his room on Monday morning. The airport officials reached the spot after getting the information and took him to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police later reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. The officials informed that the deceased had dinner on Sunday night and went to sleep in his room. When he did not report for duty till 10 AM on Monday, the employees who lived with him went to his room to call him. His room’s door was locked and he also did not respond to any calls from outside. Considering this, people started gathering around his room and broke the door. The officials said that people found him hanging with a dupatta noose around his neck. He was also wearing a bindi and lipstick. The senior superintendent of police (City) Manoj Kumar Katyal, SIIDCUL outpost in-charge Pradeep Kumar and other police officials reached the spot. They gathered information about the incident from the airport employees and took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem. According to Katyal, the police are investigating the cause of the death. The police did not find any suicide note at the site. The deceased had a wife Asha who works as a teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya Pithoragarh and a 2.5 year old daughter. The police have informed the family. The investigation is ongoing, he added.
