Authorities inspect 17 gas agencies, 19 cylinders seized, 2 men arrested

The Dehradun district administration seized 19 LPG cylinders and arrested two people in connection with black –marketing on Saturday. The officials inspected 17 gas agencies, 45 warehouses and five petrol pumps on Saturday. Two cases have also been registered.
A total of 341 complaints related to LPG supply were received through helpline numbers and WhatsApp. Officials from the Food and Civil Supplies department and representatives of gas agencies are present in the control room to address complaints and ensure quick action.
The officials said that about 29,120 domestic consumers and 69 commercial consumers had received LPG cylinders in the district on the day. Since March 1, about 1, 91,548 domestic cylinders and 15,336 commercial cylinders have been distributed. However, there is still a backlog of about 67,000 domestic cylinders.
Officials further said that the supply load has been increased and the backlog is expected to reduce soon. At present, around 31,807 cylinders are available in stock. They also said that consumers in urban areas can book the next cylinder only after 25 days, while those in rural areas can book after 45 days of receiving the last cylinder.
