Modern post-mortem complex to come up at GDMC

A modern post-mortem complex will be constructed in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC). The State government has earmarked a total of 0.1540 hectares of land in Patelnagar area of Dehradun for the complex and has started the process of transfer of the land to the GDMC administration.
The principal of GDMC, Dr Geeta Jain said that the much awaited project has been approved. She said that the approval of the post mortem complex is a result of combined efforts of the department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and department of Medical Education. Jain also thanked Health secretary Sachin Kurve for the clearance of the project. She said that with the establishment of the modular post- mortem complex modern post-mortem facilities will be available in the college. It will also provide a modern forensic training facility for the MBBS, PG and para medical students and help in strengthening legal procedures.
