Batra lays foundation stone for projects worth Rs 5.5 Cr

The State cabinet minister and minister in-charge of Udham Singh Nagar district, Pradeep Batra laid the foundation stone of multiple development schemes worth about Rs 5.52 crore at a programme organised in Municipal Corporation premises on Tuesday to mark the completion of five years of the Pushkar Singh Dhami government.  On this occasion, he directly interacted with the people and heard their problems. Also, he distributed cheques and other materials to the beneficiaries of various government schemes. Among those present were the mayor Vikas Sharma and MLA Shiv Arora.

The projects whose foundation stones were laid included the constructions of a park in ward no 38, several vending zones, clock tower, cowshed and a pre-cast rooftop rainwater harvest project in the Collectorate complex.  The minister said that     these projects will be important initiatives towards expanding commercial facilities in the city, protecting the environment, conserving water, protecting livestock and improving public amenities.

He furthermore inspected the public service stalls set up by various departments on the Municipal Corporation premises and inquired about the progress of various schemes. The camp received 258 applications and petitions and 257 beneficiaries were provided with benefits of various schemes and services on the spot.

Addressing the gathering, Batra said that development works are being regularly reviewed in each district to ensure that schemes are completed within the stipulated timeframe and the general public reap their full benefits.

While speaking of the unprecedented developmental momentum Rudrapur city has been gaining, the mayor Vikas Sharma said that the Municipal Corporation will soon allocate new shops to the traders now being evicted from Vishwakarma Market.
