Ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is continuing with his whirlwind tour of the State. On Wednesday the CM held road-shows and addressed public meetings in Someshwar (Almora), Ramnagar (Nainital) and Kundleshwari ground (Udham Singh Nagar) in support of BJP candidates Ajay Tamta and Ajay Bhatt.

Addressing a public meeting at Someshwar, CM said that BJP candidate Ajay Tamta had started his political career from Someshwar and people should elect him third consecutive time from Almora Lok Sabha seat in order to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister for the third time.

The CM said that the union and State governments have developed the Char Dhams and last year 56 lakh pilgrims visited these shrines. The State government is working on a mission mode on Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission in which more than 70 temples of Kumaon region will be developed on the lines of Char Dhams. He said that after the visit of Adi Kailash and Jageshwar by PM Modi, the tourist inflow in the area has increased. The CM said that the PM is working for the welfare of 140 crore people of the country which he treats like his family. He listed abrogation of article 370, implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and abolition of triple Talaq as some of the achievements of the Union government. The CM said that the long cherished dream of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya has been fulfilled. The women of the State are getting 30 per cent reservation in government jobs, he said.

The CM added that his government has taken a series of historic decisions to make Uttarakhand a better State. The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill has been passed by the Assembly and strict action on the recruitment mafia has been taken. The government enforced anti conversion law and promulgated an anti riot ordinance in Uttarakhand.

Launching an attack on the Congress party, the CM Dhami said that on one hand the BJP government is implementing UCC, the Congress on the other hand  is talking about implementing the provisions of Muslim Personal law board in its election manifesto.

He said that the people understand the nature of the Congress party which promotes dynastical politics and insults Sanatan dharma.  Congress is trying to divide Hindus on caste lines and wants to create a wedge between North and South India.
