To improve public amenities and address community concerns directly, a multi-purpose camp will be presided over by Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal on December 17 from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Kwasi Inter College in the Chakrata development block.
The DM stated that this camp is being organised in line with the government’s priorities to provide basic amenities in remote areas and address public concerns. He instructed departmental officials to fully prepare for the camp and ensure that the public can access the benefits of government schemes on the spot. Officials of all departments should be present with application forms and complete information about the schemes, he emphasised.
“In the multi-purpose camp, the Social Welfare, Women’s Welfare and Probation departments will verify cases related to pensions for the elderly, widows, the disabled, farmers and abandoned women. Through the DDRC, they will provide UDID cards for the disabled, identify malnourished children, offer treatment and distribute handicapped aids and prosthetic limbs,” Bansal said.
He further informed that the Health department will implement a two-tier system at the camp. The first tier will include general health check-ups, while the second will involve processing various types of disability certificates offline, which will later be converted to online formats by SDM. The RBS team will survey malnourished children and provide them with treatment. Services available at the camp will include de-addiction counselling, nutrition assistance, family welfare, vaccination, free check-ups for pregnant women and distribution of medicines. A separate Community Health Centre (CHC) will handle applications for the Atal Ayushman Card, he said.
Bansal added that the Rural Development department will address MNREGA work requests, job cards and payment issues, among others. The Employment department will organise job fairs and provide guidance to youth, while the Education department will offer services related to Mid-Day Meals (MDM), the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and the Right to Education (RTE). The Food department will verify, amend and issue ration cards for the State Food Scheme, he said.
Additionally, the Electricity and Drinking Water departments will assist with bill corrections, payments and the distribution of new connections. The Public Works Department (PWD), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) will tackle concerns related to highways, State highways and rural roads. Many other departments, including tourism, the Irrigation department and many others will also provide service in the camp.
