CDS leaves for ancestral village from Srinagar

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Anil Chauhan arrived at the helipad on the Chauras campus of the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University on Friday morning. Later, he left for his native village, Gawana. During this time, he will offer prayers at the revered Siddhapeetha Rajrajeshwari Temple in Devalgarh, and then attend a private ceremony in his village.
Notably, this is his first visit to his native village since he became the CDS. His wife, Anupama Chauhan is accompanying him.
