UPES hosts VidhiUtsav, with 450+ participants from 80+ universities

UPES School of Law concluded the third edition of VidhiUtsav 2026, bringing together over 450 participants from more than 80 universities across India and abroad. The three-day event brought together students, legal practitioners, policymakers and academicians for an intensive engagement with contemporary legal issues, competitive platforms and experiential learning, UPES sources said. Among the dignitaries present were the retired judge of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and retired judge of Uttarakhand High Court judge and chairperson, Uttarakhand State Law Commission, Justice Rajesh Tandon. In his keynote address, Justice Dhulia spoke on the importance of compassion as the foundation of law.
VidhiUtsav 2026 featured 13 national and international competitions across diverse domains such as moot court, mediation, negotiation, client counselling, youth parliament, policy drafting, sports law, animal law and pro bono services. The Vidhi Symposium, the intellectual core of the fest, hosted discussions on key contemporary issues in law and governance.
On the occasion, the vice-chancellor, UPES, Sunil Rai, said, “VidhiUtsav reflects a philosophy, bringing together academia, industry and the judiciary to create a platform where students can engage, question and grow into responsible legal professionals.”
The Judge, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Sushil Kukreja was among those present at the valedictory ceremony.
