Centre sanctions Rs 2355 crore for U’khand under SASCI scheme

 In a major financial relief to the State, the Union government approved a total sum of Rs 2,355 crore for Uttarakhand under its Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme on Tuesday.

The Finance secretary informed that a sum of Rs 2,283.60 crore has been approved for Uttarakhand as first instalment under the Pride of Hills (Special Development Assistance Scheme for mountainous States) scheme.

Similarly, a sum of Rs 71.94 crore was approved by the ministry of Finance SASCI scheme for the current financial year. 

Expressing gratitude to the central government for this, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is fully supporting the development of Uttarakhand. He said that the State government is working with determination to make Uttarakhand a leading state in the country.
