IFFCO to help in Khet Bachao Jeevan Bachao campaign in Uttarakhand

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) will collaborate with the Uttarakhand government to launch a ‘ Khet Bachao Jeevan Bachao’ campaign in the State. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the State Cooperation minister Dhan Singh Rawat and IFFCO chairman Dilip Sanghani in New Delhi on Tuesday.
In the meeting the minister asked the chairman to further expand IFFCO’s involvement in the agriculture and cooperative sectors in Uttarakhand. He also discussed the ‘Khet Bachao Jeevan Bachao’ campaign in the State for the benefit of farmers and developing a comprehensive action plan for farmers with the support of IFFCO. After the discussion, the IFFCO chairperson gave his consent for launching the campaign to save farm land in Uttarakhand.
After the meeting Rawat said that discussion on various important issues related to the State, including conservation of natural resources, improving soil health, promoting organic and natural farming, balanced fertilizer use and connecting farmers with modern agricultural techniques were held in the meeting. It was also decided to organize various programmes to educate the State’s farmers about scientific and sustainable agricultural practices.
Rawat said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, effective efforts are being made to promote natural farming and increase farmers’ income in the state. Numerous schemes are being implemented to make farmers self-reliant and agriculture more profitable. He said that IFFCO will soon organize a mega conference of farmers in Uttarakhand.
IFFCO managing director KJ Patel, marketing manager Yogendra Kumar and other senior officers attended the meeting.
