CM directs universities, colleges to set up help desks for students

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the universities and colleges of the State should compulsorily set up a help desk for the students. He gave the instruction while reviewing the CM Helpline 1905 at the State secretariat on Friday.
Taking cognizance of the complaint of Sakshi, a student of Shridev Suman University about non issuance of her degree certificate, the CM expressed his strong displeasure and directed the secretary of Information Technology and the secretary of Higher Education departments to investigate the matter and submit a report within a week.
He also directed them to take strict action against the officers concerned. On a stern note, the CM directed that Sakshi should be provided with a degree within a week. The CM directed that the services provided under the Right to Service act should be displayed on the display boards of offices. He directed that the complaints related to electricity, water, roads, and other basic amenities received by the helpline should be resolved promptly. The officers concerned should post on their office notice boards the designated days they will meet to address issues, he said.
Dhami also interacted with the complainants and directed officers to resolve their issues as quickly as possible.
He said the complaints and problems of the people in disaster-affected areas should be prioritised. Dhami also directed all district magistrates to review the CM Helpline weekly, secretaries twice a month, and the chief secretary monthly. He said that a campaign should be initiated to resolve the cases pending for more than three months.
He directed that DMs must regularly organize public meetings to ensure prompt resolution of public issues and take action on the officers who fail to resolve complaints within the stipulated time frame.
The CM directed that roads and protective walls damaged by the disaster should be repaired on priority.
He also directed all departments to submit a status report of complaints received on the helpline to his office by the 5th day of every month.
The information technology development agency (ITDA) Director Gaurav Kumar informed the CM about the status of the complaints received on the CM Helpline.
The deputy chairman of Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dawar, CS Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu and R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretaries, heads of various departments and all DMs attended the meeting.
