Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that active participation of the government, public representatives and the local people is needed for the successful implementation of the schemes of the Union and State governments.
He was addressing the first meeting of the state level Disha committee held at the State secretariat in Dehradun on Friday. He asked the officers to regularly communicate with public representatives, share the progress of the schemes, and maximize the benefits to the people. Chairing the meeting the CM reviewed the progress of the flagship schemes of the State and union government. In the meeting the CM directed officers to expedite the process of implementation of the schemes.
He said that transparency, accountability and coordination between departments is essential in the implementation of the schemes. The CM said that concrete steps are being taken to elevate the State to the ranks of the country’s leading states and warned that any laxity in this regard will not be acceptable.
Stressing on the need of maximizing the use of modern technology to monitor the schemes, he said that availability of information and accountability will significantly improve the pace of implementation of the schemes. He also stressed that coordinated efforts by all departments are essential to ensure the real benefits of schemes reach farmers, the poor, women, and youth. During a discussion on agriculture and the energy sector, the Chief Minister directed the pace of installation of solar-powered pumps.
He said that the pace of installation of solar power pumps in farms under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana should be hastened. This would not only provide farmers with access to irrigation facilities but also achieve long-term energy self-sufficiency through the use of solar energy. The CM directed that the remaining villages should be provided road connectivity under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
The meeting also reviewed progress in areas such as health, education, and employment generation. The Chief Minister stated that expanding quality education and health services are among the top priorities of the state government. He directed officials to more effectively implement skill development, self-employment, and entrepreneurship schemes for youth and women.
Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Kalpana Saini, MLAs Sahdev Singh Pundir, Renu Bisht, Suresh Gadhiya, Shakti Lal Shah, Harish Dhami and Manoj Tiwari were present in the meeting.
Principal secretary L Fanai, special PS Amit Sinha, secretaries Radhika Jha, Nitesh Jha, BVRC Purushottam, SN Pandey, R Rajesh Kumar, Dhiraj Garbyal, Shridhar Babu Addanki, Yugal Kishore Pant and head of various departments also attended the meeting.
