CM visits rain-ravaged Jakhanyali in Tehri

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami– accompanied by the State tourism minister Satpal Maharaj- conducted field inspection of the rain-affected area Jakhanyali in Tehri district, met the families of the deceased and consoled them.
He assured the people that his government and the administration are standing with them in this time of disaster. He also
directed the district magistrate to provide immediate relief to the affected and make all necessary arrangements in the relief camps. Besides, he called for immediate steps to repair the rain-damaged roads and facilitate uninterrupted water and electricity supply.

Mayur Dixit told the CM that since the cloudburst happened and a hotel was washed away near Jakhanyali in Ghansali block of Tehri district, the rescue teams from several departments like police, revenue and SDRF had rushed to the sites and launched operations. He further told the CM that food, drinking water and milk are being provided in sufficient quantity to the affected people living now in the temporary shelter set up at Mahila Milan Kendra Jakhanyali.
