Congress’ Delhi rally attempt to rub salt into Sikh wounds; conspiracy to hit festive season business: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the Congress rally in Delhi as an attempt to rub salt into the wounds of the Sikh riots victims, causing harm to traders and a gathering of elements with anarchic intentions.
BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that those who advocate for a ceasefire in foreign countries during Ramzan are seeking to inflict economic damage on the country during Hindu festivals. Regarding the land grabbing complaint against those close to Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat, he clarified that everyone should wait for the investigation report. Interacting with the media at the party headquarters, he described the Congress and opposition rally as part of a conspiracy to spread chaos and weaken the economy during the festive season.
Taking a dig at the Congress, he stated that little more can be expected from those who have failed to convince the public for the past 15 years and consider it their right to raise ruckus in Parliament. “They have made spreading confusion and rumor a key part of their policy and persisted in their lies despite failing to defend themselves before the Election Commission or the Supreme Court. Their Vote Bachao Desh Bachao rally at Ramlila Ground is a failed attempt to console each other by saving each other,” he said.
Bhatt alleged that this rally is an attempt to rub salt into the wounds of the 1984 Sikh riots victims. The Congress party, whose workers and leaders massacred Sikhs in Delhi and across the country starting November 1, 1984, was the main organiser of this rally. Similarly, their aim was to disrupt the wholesale markets of North India, operated from Delhi, in order to harm the country’s economy during the festive season. He also alleged that the Congress and the opposition are not at all concerned about the impact on Hindu festivals when organising such events.
