Congress diverting focus from public interest issues: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Congress of diverting focus from public issues through its political protests. Criticising the stance of the Congress in the house and outside during the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that protesting for the sake of opposing has become part of the party’s character. He opined that this is an irresponsible attitude because they are answerable to the people who have elected them to the Assembly. Chauhan said, “The stance of the party and protests outside the Assembly are political stunts.

The opposition is facing a lack of issues due to the all-round development facilitated by the State government during the past four years. The Congress is uneasy due to the various legal provisions made for development, public welfare, law and order, employment and checking demographic change to preserve the State’s culture. The pace of development in the State is expected to increase during the current financial year considering the public welfare budget aimed at balanced and integrated development tabled by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami,” he said.

Chauhan alleged that with indirect encouragement from its central leadership, the Congress is aiming to hamper Uttarakhand’s development. “Being unable to accept the truth, the entire opposition is playing political stunts, spreading lies and confusion. Such a picture was witnessed in the house and outside the Assembly at Gairsain,” the BJP leader added.
