The Bharatiya Janata Party has appealed to all political parties, especially opposition leaders, to avoid politicising the tragic incident at the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar and to respond with sensitivity and responsibility.
The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt expressed grief over the stampede and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
In his statement, Bhatt requested all stakeholders to refrain from making premature statements before the official investigation is completed. He said that the administration is providing medical treatment to the injured and that the government and associated organisations are offering assistance to the affected families.
Bhatt stated that while the loss of lives cannot be compensated, all necessary support is being extended to those in need. He urged that all parties maintain restraint and allow the authorities to carry out the investigation. He added that any individual found responsible will face strict legal action. Making political allegations without evidence will not help the situation, he said.
