Dehradun police arrest two members of Sunil Rathi gang

 In a major achievement, Dehradun police arrested two active members of notorious Sunil Rathi gang of western Uttar Pradesh in Rajpur police station area on Thursday. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dehradun Parmendra Dobal said that following an input, a joint team of STF and Dehradun police stopped a SUV (Scorpio) in the Rajpur area and arrested Bhanu Chaudhary and Paras on Thursday. The police team also recovered two illegal pistols and seven live cartridges from their possession.

On interrogation it came to the light that Paras, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in UP had been a principal shooter in the gangs of Muktar Ansari and Sanjeev Jeeva in the past and following their death had joined the gang of Sunil Rathi.  The SSP said that both the arrested criminals were engaged in extortion of money by interfering in the disputed land cases in Dehradun on the orders of Sunil Rathi.

The police also found that Paras was in regular contact with Sunil Rathi who is currently in jail with this mobile phone. The police informed that the duo were involved in threatening some traders in Dehradun and Haridwar by using the name of Sunil Rathi but no one came forward to register a complaint due to the terror Rathi. 

The police team included inspector Abul Kalam, sub inspector Vidhyadutt Joshi, SI Deepak Maithani, Manoj Belwal, head constable Sanjay Kumar, HC Vijendra Kumar, HC Sudhir Kesla and constable Mohan Aswal from the STF and inspector and in -charge Rajpur police station Pradip Singh Rawat, SI Arjun Gusain and constable Robin Ramola.
