Dehradun reports six new dengue cases in 24 hours

The cumulative number of dengue cases in Dehradun district has gone up to 378 following confirmation of six new positive cases on Friday. The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that among the six new cases, one each was reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Rawat Hospital and Graphic Era Hospital while two each at Kailash Hospital and Himalayan Hospital. Of the cumulative 378 cases, 181 originated from Dehradun while 197 were reported from other districts and states.
Currently, there are 23 patients receiving treatment for dengue. Thirteen of them are being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, six at Himalayan Hospital, three at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Kailash Hospital. On Friday alone, health officials collected 312 dengue samples, bringing the total number of samples tested to 20,194.
Additionally, on Friday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the Health department claimed to have conducted 10,923 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 173 homes. To date, the Health department has completed a total of 15, 54942 household surveys with 14117 showing positive results.
