In an initiative aimed at winning the confidence of the students ahead of the crucial Vidhan Sabha elections of 2027, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government launched a free online coaching scheme on Monday. Named the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuwa Bhavishya Nirman Yojana’ the ambitious scheme was launched by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence on Monday. Under the scheme, eligible students studying in State and government-aided colleges and State universities will be provided free online coaching to prepare for various competitive examinations.
In his address, the CM said that in the first phase, 11,000 students will be provided free online coaching. “The success in competitive examinations requires hard work, proper direction, a good strategy, guidance from good teachers and regular practice. Many talented youth, especially in mountainous and remote areas are unable to access good coaching institutes due to financial circumstances, lack of proper guidance and resources. The State government has resolved that lack of resources or financial constraints will not hinder the dreams of any talented youth,’’ he said.
The CM said that Uttarakhand’s greatest strength lies in its youth and the State government is committed to provide them with the right direction, better guidance and equal opportunities for advancement. He added that the State government has implemented the country’s most stringent anti-copying law to ensure transparency in recruitment processes. The CM said that more than 34,000 youth have secured government jobs in the last five years.
He said that the State government is making efforts to make youth active partners in determining the State’s future direction. With this vision, brainstorming sessions are being held with over 2,50,000 young students in the state to gather their ideas and suggestions. He said that a separate Youth Commission will be established in the state to work specifically on youth hopes, aspirations and employment-related issues.
In the programme, the CM interacted with the students and inquired about their competitive exam preparations, future goals and aspirations and encouraged them to work hard and move forward with confidence.
The Higher Education minister, Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Higher Education department will ensure that as many eligible students as possible are informed about the scheme and can benefit from it. In an important announcement, the minister said that from this year 50 percent of student union elections will be reserved for female students.
Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, chief secretary Anand Bardhan, vice chancellors of many universities and others attended the programme.
