The Election Commission of India will publish the final voter list of Uttarakhand after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the State on October 3. The chief electoral officer, BVRC Purushottam informed media persons at the State secretariat on Monday that as per the earlier schedule, the final voter list was to be published on September 15 under the SIR in the State.
He said more than 99 per cent of the 24.30 lakh notices have been heard in the State under the SIR. The CEO added that 40 per cent hearing of Forms VI, VII and VIII has also been completed in the State.
He said that according to the new schedule issued by the ECI, claims and objections will be heard until September 28. After which the final voter list will be published on October 3.
The additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande, deputy chief electoral officer Kishan Singh Negi and assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das were present on the occasion.
