The Nainital district magistrate, Lalit Mohan Rayal conducted a surprise inspection at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Haldwani on Saturday.
While inspecting all sections and desks of the RTO office, he instructed employees to compulsorily wear nameplates and identity cards for easy identification. He further told them to throw those out of the office who enter the office from outside to interfere in the work of vehicle license and registration. “Actions should also be taken against them,” he said. Moreover, he stressed on maintenance of CCTV cameras and recording systems in the office to ensure transparency.
Several officials and employees of the Transport department, including Haldwani RTO Gurdev Singh, were present during the inspection.
