DM pulls up officers for slow progress of development schemes

While reviewing physical and financial progress of the development schemes being implemented in the district here on Saturday, the district magistrate Prashant Arya reprimanded the officials of some departments for development funds remaining unused and slow progress of the implementation of the schemes incorporated in the district plan and the externally funded Central Government schemes. Things were reviewed ahead of the district-wise review meeting involving all the districts of the State to be chaired by the chief secretary. Aside from taking stock of the progress of development schemes implementation, the meeting discussed    the revenue receipt status until January.

Giving a dressing down to the officers concerned for tardy progress of scheme execution, the DM stated categorically that the district administration would not tolerate unnecessary delay in development work and directed all departments to ensure that the tasks given to them are completed on time.  

In the meeting, various development schemes, including those involving the Revenue and Home departments, were reviewed. The schemes taken up for review at the meeting included the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Tourism Self-employment Scheme. Besides, those concerning Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Cooperative departments were reviewed.

Furthermore, discussion was held on law and order, criminal cases, drug de-addiction campaigns, prison-related cases and land fraud cases.

Among the senior district officers present at the meeting were the chief development officer Jai Bharat Singh; additional district magistrate Mukta Mishra; sub-divisional magistrate, Bhatwari, Shalini Negi and sub-divisional magistrate, Dunda, Devanand Sharma.
