The Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad ( UVSP) has started preparations for successful conduction of the class X and XII board examinations.
The chairman of USVP and the director Secondary Education, Mukul Kumar Sati chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the examinations at the board office on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by additional directors (Secondary Education) of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, chief education officers of all districts and deputy controllers of the examinations. The secretary UVSP, Vinod Prasad Simalty said that the focus of the meeting was on strengthening the examination system and ensuring zero tolerance towards negligence.
He said that a total of 1,12,660 students will appear for class X while 1,03,449 students will take the class XII board examination this year. In total, examinations will be conducted at 1,261 centres across the State, including 156 sensitive and six highly sensitive centres.
The board examinations will begin on February 21 and conclude on March 20. All examinations will be held in a single shift. For smooth conduct, 13 main collection centres and 26 sub-collection centres have been set up across the State.
In the meeting the board chairman directed all CEOs to ensure that examinations in their respective districts are conducted in a fair, disciplined and cheating-free manner. He said that the responsibility for the security of question papers will lie with centre superintendents and custodians and any lapse will invite strict action.
