The Raipur police have arrested a drug peddler with MDMA and heroin worth around Rs 30 lakh. The accused has been identified as Danish (32), a resident of Nagal in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Police said that the accused intended to supply the drug at high-profile parties in Doon.
Sharing details, the superintendent of police (law and order), Jintender Choudhary said that the police recovered 48.55 grams of MDMA and 40.75 grams of heroin (smack) from his possession. “The drugs were brought from Saharanpur and were meant to be supplied at high-profile parties in Dehradun. A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act”, Choudhary said.
During questioning, Danish is understood to have told the police that he had purchased the drugs from a local drug supplier in Saharanpur. He also revealed the names of some other people involved in the drug trade.
SP Choudhary said that their teams have launched an operation to trace and arrest the other accused. “The drive against drug traffickers will continue and strict action will be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade”, he affirmed.
