Take strict action on violators of law & order in State: Dhami

Taking a stern note of the incident in which a minor was allegedly raped by an elderly man in Nainital, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to take a strict action against those involved in the incident and in the cases of violation of law and order in the State.
The CM gave the order while chairing a high level meeting at his residence on Friday. He directed that action should be taken against the culprits involved in the alleged rape of a minor in Nainital. Dhami directed the district administration of Nainital to take care of the victim and provide security to her family. He said that the government stands firmly with the victim and her family.
The CM also directed the officials to immediately identify those who spread misleading information and rumours through social media and other means and take strict legal action against them. He said that any meddling with the identity of the State and its land will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against any person or organisation who dares to break the unity of the State.
The chief minister directed that complete vigilance for the safety of pilgrims and tourists in the State should be done. He warned that any kind of negligence in security arrangements will not be tolerated. Dhami also directed the district magistrates to submit all the reports of action taken against the verification of tenants, hawkers, illegal land grabbers and those who have got certificates made illegally, within three days.
The meeting was attended by chief secretary Anand Bardhan, director general of police Deepam Seth, principal secretary R K Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, additional director general police V Murugeshan and others. Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat, inspector general Kumoan Ridhim Agarwal, DM Nainital Vandana, DM Udham Singh Nagar Nitin Bhadauria, SSP Nainital PN Meena and SSP US Nagar Manikant Mishra attended the meeting in virtual mode.
