Cooperatives committees’ joint registrar MP Tripathi stressed on the need for working with a sense of cooperation. He said this while chairing a joint review meeting of the Cooperatives department and district cooperative bank of Udham Singh Nagar. Various cooperatives schemes, Central and State government policies, PACS/MPACS computerisation, the financial condition of the bank and other aspects were discussed in the meeting.
Tripathi said that the department and the bank should both focus on concrete steps to achieve positive results. Effective steps should be taken for loan recovery by the bank and the committees and a target should be set to bring NPAs to below five per cent.
Assistant registrar Harish Chandra Khanduri stressed on the need for measures to strengthen cooperative committees, regular examination of accounts, active participation of members and enhancing transparency of committees.
