A girl student of a noted private school in Dehradun has accused her physics teacher of inappropriate touch, with videos of the student and her mother narrating the incident going viral on social media.
Taking cognisance of the matter, senior superintendent of police of Dehradun Pramendra Singh Dobal said that action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
In the viral video, the student, who studies in class XI alleged that her physics teacher, who is also her class teacher, used to touch girl students inappropriately. She claimed that when they informed the school management about it, instead of supporting them, the management intimidated her.
The student said that she had submitted an application to the school management regarding the teacher’s behaviour towards girls, which was signed by 15 students. However, she alleged that the director of the school asked her to demonstrate how the teacher had touched her.
She demanded that the director should publicly apologise in front of all students in the assembly and that students should be given the message that they can report any inappropriate behaviour without fear.
In the video, the mother of the victim also explained the entire incident and the director’s behaviour. She alleged that the school management was not giving them a receipt for the complaint application signed by 15 students.
Dobal said, “This matter has come to our attention. A police team has been sent to the school to investigate. Statements will also be taken from the school management. Whoever is found guilty will be prosecuted.”
