Global leaders convene at UPES to reframe growth

UPES hosted the International Conference on Sustainable Peace for Growth (ICSPG 2026) convening a distinguished cohort of academicians, policymakers, industry leaders, social innovators, artists, and students to examine the deep interconnections between peace, sustainability and inclusive development.

Framed around the central idea that enduring growth is only possible in the presence of justice, institutional integrity and social harmony, ICSPG 2026 emphasised the need for integrated and collaborative approaches aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16. Discussions across sessions reinforced the importance of building resilient institutions and fostering inclusive societies as a prerequisite for long-term prosperity.

The conference was inaugurated bythe vice chancellor, UPES, Sunil Rai. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the urgency of rethinking development paradigms, noting that sustainable growth must be anchored in peace, equity, and strong institutional frameworks that can withstand evolving global challenges.

Among others present were the president, UPES, Ram Sharma and registrar, UPES, Manish Madaan.
