Shivendra Kumar Kashyap to be new vice-chancellor of GBPUAT

The governor and chancellor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh has appointed Shivendra Kumar Kashyap as the vice-chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT). Kashyap has been appointed for a term of three years from the date he assumes office, or till he attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders—whichever is earlier. Currently, he is serving at the College of Agriculture in the university.Kashyap is an academician who has received numerous honours, including the ICAR Best Teacher Award, for his outstanding contributions to agricultural education. At GBPUAT, he has served in several key roles, including professor, Head of the Department of Agricultural Communication, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Principal Investigator (PI) of a World Bank-funded project, NAHEP, PI of the DST-TEC project, and has handled important responsibilities in several other projects. Since 2019, he has been serving as the chairman of the ranking team at the university.
