Heavy to very heavy rain warning issued for 9 districts
Schools to remain closed in Dehradun district today

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in nine districts of the State today. The warning has been issued for the districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Haridwar. Further, an alert has been issued regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in remaining districts of Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense showers are also likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State.
Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the districts on Wednesday. For Dehradun, the meteorological centre has forecast generally cloudy skies with very heavy rainfall likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Wednesday. Meanwhile, considering the possibility of heavy rainfall, the administration has ordered closure of all schools in the district on Wednesday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 34.2 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.1 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 19.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
