Helicopter services from Pantnagar Airport launched

Pawan Hans has launched helicopter services from Pantnagar Airport under the UDAN scheme with the district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria along with the local MLA Shiv Arora flagging it from Pantnagar Airport to Naukuchiatal.
Speaking on the occasion, Arora said that this would usher in massive development in the mountains through boosting tourism potential. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and chief minister for the launch of this much-needed service. “Tourists will reach Almora, Dehradun and Nainital within half an hour or three-quarters of an hour using the helicopter service, which will boost tourism,” he said, adding that this initiative is an important step towards ensuring accessible, affordable and reliable air transportation for the general people.
DM said that the heli service will connect Dehradun, Naukuchiatal and Almora. “Pantnagar Airport is being made an international level airport, the expansion work of which will start soon. With the expansion, this airport will be connected to Jewar in Noida and Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi and will get the benefit of international flights,” he added.
Among others present on the occasion were the additional district magistrate Pankaj Upadhyay and chief development officer Divesh Shashani.
